Couple of Nice 47 Knuckles

Wauseon Ohio 2005
I scanned these photos in the other day. I just noticed that I'm standing in the back ground (with my head chopped off) of the pic of the green 47, so I'm not even sure who took these with my camera. They were both sweet machines!

Dan's Flathead...Today (literally)

I got a call from Dan yesterday morning telling me he just finished up "re-doing" his 47 UL.
Now I am familiar with this term having a lot of the same bikes for over 25 years. I have done a "re-do" on several.
Dan was meticulous on this particular one. He asked if I wanted to come up and shoot it...I said sure! What's a 6 hour round trip on a days notice between friends anyway...no problem!
Well I just got back and Man this bike looks and runs fuckin' great! The last time I took it for a ride was in 1994...shit 16 years ago. It is still the same paint job, motor, trans etc. He took it apart to get it back into the correct frame (the one it originally came with). He also hand crafted a bitchin' exhaust system, which ain't no easy task gettin' it right for a Flathead! (pic of exhaust to follow).
I thought this thing was flawless the first time around, but it's even better now!

Dan's Flathead Summer ' 94

Connecticut 1994. Dan and I had coincidentally been building similar style Bob Jobs in the early 90's. Mine was my red and white scalloped 47 Knuckle and his was this beautiful yellow and black scalloped 47 Flathead. You can see the red grip of my Flanders poking into the right side of the pic.

Final Farewell

I took a ride over to Jersey last night and picked up George, Kenny and Mike "Bolt-On". We then drove out to Long Island NY to attend services for Krazy Kevin. We arrived at the Funeral Parlor just before 7 PM. Kevin's Flathead was in the room right next to him and his Knuckle was parked outside. There was a fantastic array of photos and memorabilia to commemorate his life. Bikes and old pick ups were rolling in and the crowd grew steadily. By 8PM or so it was packed. We had a toast to Kevin in the parking lot, said our good byes and hit the road. I eventually dropped the guys off in Jersey and headed back to PA...It was a long night but we were all glad we made it. RIP Kevin.

Ted's II - Main Floor including Chopper Mania!

OK I am over posting today but what the fuck...I gotta get it outta my system. These shots are from the main floor at Ted's. There is a mix of all kinda bikes, but the main attraction is the Choppers and Chopper "stuff" everywhere. My photos don't do this place justice and I probably only captured half of what's there... if that!
I did notice that there was a void in the Knucklehead department. There are only a handful of them. I asked Ted about it...he said "that was an interesting observation and true". He also said the same was true about Panheads. He told me the reason for that is that over the years whenever they got a Pan or Knuckle they would end up selling them to stay afloat because they were easy sellers (everyone wanted one).
The amount of really old bikes here is staggering! I guess they didn't sell any of those!
