Flat Track Knucklehead - TT Oil Tank and Fender finish Install...

Time to take the fender and TT Oil tank
off and permanently mount 'em

I used the stock bracket but I flipped it for the TT tank

Then I bent it up to fit between the bottom of the oil tank
and the lower plate

Like so...

Then I had to grind out the plate to make room for
the nuts and washers from the fender bolts

"Crude, but effective"...my favorite saying...

mock up bolts...

Check for clearance between the top of the
oil tank and the frame with the old "paper test"

Like a glove!

Perm hardware installed...

Fender brackets installed...

All finished for now...

Back Home...

Went Flat Trackin' this weekend at the Square Deal Riders Track in Upstate New York...what a blast. Billy and Stan rode Pans, John rode a Shovel with a tank shift, Matt and Ken the Kid rode older Sportsters and I rode my trusty old WLDR. I ran in the Factory War Class (H-D's and Indians) and we also had them make a Harley Only Class. The other guys ran in the Hot Rod Multi class, and we all ran in the Harley Only Class. Billy slid off the track in turn four and down a 20 foot embankment...I missed it on video! Earlier in the night I almost did the same thing in the same turn, but managed to get back on the track prior to sliding off the edge...what fun! Thrills and Spills!!!
The racing was great, the track was great and the after parties in the pits were nothing but fun...
More pictures and video to come...

Later that evening we ran into these guys...Pete's Pan...

Hutch's Knuckle...

I forgot to post these pictures of the Freemansburg Hill Climb from a couple weeks ago. The event was great as usual and with Jerry Franz visiting and getting his insight and stories of Hill Climbs past made it all the better. We met up with Ralph Kreeger who Jerry had not seen in 30 years and thanks to Ralph's hospitality we ended up with pit passes, a place under his EZ UP and seats so close to the action we were sprayed with dirt and stones! Jerry, his wife Diana  and I had a blast! Jerry met Pro Hill Climber Molly Carbon who started hill climbing at 8 years old and at 23 is 3rd in points in the Pro Sport Class.
It was a great day!
Later we met Hutch and Pete. It's few and far between these days that you run into a Pan and a Knuckle out at a bar...good to meet these guys.
