Random Weekend Activity...

Another H-D battery blew up...this time in my 47 Knuckle...
Third one so far...last two were in my 57 Pan...
I don't even know when it blew....it still worked somehow...

Had to wash the bike with Baking Soda

Found this to be a good way to get the Baking Soda
where it needed to go...mixed with water in a Windex spray bottle..

Battery Acid stripped the Parkerize right off the trans plate...

...and stained the case....this is after cleaning...

Installed my last H-D Taiwan Battery...

I pulled it outta my 46 FL which is down for Flat Track repairs...

Cleaning and Oiling
The H-D's are not the only things that need maintenance...

Mel brought this project over for a consultation...
Needs work and parts!

Still undoing October's sand and surf from the Beach Racing!

And don't forget to exercise the machines...

Typical weekend stuff. Went to adjust my chains on the 47 White Knuckle and something didn't seem right. Turns out at some point my Taiwan H-D battery exploded and dumped (now dried) battery acid all over the Trans and sprayed back on the chain, chain guard, wheel, etc! I had to hose it down and clean it with Baking Soda, which I diluted in a spray bottle for easier application. Then I hit everything with WD-40.
The Glock needed a thorough cleaning and lubrication as well...it's not all motorcycles you know...
Saturday Mel brought a 46 FL project over for me to consult on...It needs....
I also worked on cleaning up the floor board extensions that I had on my 46 Knuckle during The Race of Gentlemen...sand and surf's a Bitch!
Of course there's always time to get out and do some Midnight Tavern racing....

  1. Guess you battery vent pipe was bend/blocked, combined with a hard tightned lock top screws, then the batt is not able to vent, during charging.
