Oley 27 Years Ago! 1987...Still the Best!

Oh yeah! Same spot at Oley since the 80's...There's my 64 Chevy II Wagon/Camper with all the bells and whistles! These were the pre-EZ Up Years...Check out the firehouse in the background...I still have most of these parts too. That Crocker Speedway wheel is on my mantel...and the 45 wheel leaning on the tailgate is on a 1945 "45" that I still have.

It didn't get any better than this! Can you make out that purple Knuckle frame with the molded Sportster tank in the middle left of the picture...that's the frame I'm using today for my Flat Track Knuckle project that I'm building!

Mike Terry and Steve...Billy Rosendale's Duo-Glide...

This gentleman from Long Island was a common
 site at Oley and Harmony

The great Gene Baron on his WR...RIP

Mike Steve and Billy Rosendale...RIP Billy!
That bicycle cost me $5 and is sitting in my living room with a Merkel Motor Wheel on it...

I don't know if I was Coming or Going...and still don't!

How about a close up of this Nefarious Character... Yikes!

Reminiscing about Oley's gone by...I found these pictures from 1987 and thought it would be apropos to post them now. What a great time this meet has been! I've not missed one since they began...

Somethin's Brewin' - Trans and Oil Bag

Fitting the Trans and short Oil Bag into the frame. Looking pretty good so far. I opted to use the late kicker shaft so I can kick start the bike and toss the kicker arm and pedal off to the side prior to hitting the track...won't need it then...

Also scored some cool Buco Bags...

Spent four wonderful days and three glorious nights in Oley PA! I again did not take enough pictures of bikes or people! The weather was great for the most part, windy on Wednesday and rained Friday at night  (but the Moon was Shining) and in between it was great. The meet was jammed with cool shit as usual and it was great to see everyone and meet some new people especially after a brutal PA winter! I met a couple of Cats from Japan...Taka and Sonny...a pleasure to meet you guy,s as well as, Dave Polgreen who I got a chance to bullshit with a little.
I picked up a few things and actually sold some stuff that I didn't have a use for...My '46 knuckle clutch locked up after letting it sit for a couple hours after doing multiple hole shots and she  required a field repair...no big deal...took the clutch apart and had a fiber plate that glued itself to a steel plate. I pried them apart with a screwdriver and soaked 'em in gasoline and I was doing burnouts again within the hour!
It was another fantastic Oley!
