Turns out the '46 won the day! Nice trophy!

The Rat's Nest Run In was great and the weather was perfect I was shocked when Dan pointed out the trophy next to my '46. Dan spent the day entertaining folks with tails of how I found the bike at a yard sale on the way up. Then he would look over and say "Hey you want to try to start it?"or "You think it'll run?" I would walk over, set down my beer and give it one kick and it would fire up (LOUD) and they would all jump back! I must have done that ten times...it was funny every time...OK I'm an asshole...I know it...

I had planned on staying into the night and grabbing a room but I wanted to salvage Sunday so we took off around 5 pm and did the quick 3 hour ride home...It was worth the trip!

Rat's Nest Run-In NY State

Got back last night from the Rat's Nest Run-In up in Saugerties NY. Met up with Dan and Shane and had a great time. This pic is the fender of Dan's '40. That was old faded paint that he hand rubbed and brought back to life.

I have a bunch more pictures to post from there...I'll do it later...too nice out.

Found some more pictures on my phone from Motorcycle Mike's party on the 4th.

The Wild Bill Indian tanks are a killer! Mike got them recently from an estate sale. For those that don't know, Bill and his wife Dorothy owned and ran B&D Motorcycles in Rahway NJ. Bill was an HD dealer but also had Indians. B&D had been around forever and was the place I would go for old shit in the early 80's. NOS right on the shelf!

I rode my 50 Pan down to Motorcycle Mike's place for a 4th of July Party last Saturday. It was a beautiful hot summer day and I was headed to the Jersey Shore.

I stopped at an old legendary Biker Bar along the way called Plain Janes...I had not been there since a party in '93.

There used to be GREAT parties back in the groves behind the bar! When I inquired as to what happened to the parties, the owner told me that several years ago there were six accidents at the same time consisting of party goers leaving the place. The cops came in and told him that if he served another drink he was goin' to jail. He said there were 200 bikers at the bar and he told the cops that they would have to clear the place out before he stopped pouring...they did...

Anyway I pulled into Mike's and was immediately banished to the stones due to the leakiness of my ride ...oh well. Great party. I stayed the night and rode 100 miles home in the pouring rain on Sunday...Good Times!
