I arrived at the Denton Farm Park around 2:30 on Wednesday... There were a bunch of the local guys there along with a steady trickle of folks from near and far. It was a beautiful warm day in North Carolina. The grounds were pristine as usual and I was ready to kick back and enjoy the scene after the 530 mile drive. First things first, crack a Lager and unload the Dirty Nine...
The afternoon was great, I hung out with Tower Dave, Lonnie and a bunch of other friends, I also picked up a kick ass XA springer along with some other front end parts. Later on a few of us headed to town for dinner. Matt McManus took his shiny Flathead and I rode the Dirty Nine. I discovered the Dirty Nine has a high speed wobble at about 75 MPH...that valve job worked wonders for the old gal!
Back at the meet, the weather was perfect and we hung out BSing and what not into the night....
Thursday came the rain...and rain and rain....The great thing about Denton is that there are tons of buildings and pavilions scattered across the Farm Park for cover in bad weather...not to mention that 14 miles up the road is Rick Allen's Incredible Harley Museum and Restaurant. We piled in Matt's truck and head up there for lunch...no better place to be in a rain storm! Back at the meet folks were hanging out and making deals. I headed back to Asheboro Thursday night for dinner with some of the Jersey boys...Eric, Stan and Phil. Later on we hung out near the stage under cover drinkin' beer and catching up.
Friday came and the weather was clear and perfect! More on that in the next post....

  1. Great stuff, were the prices as outrageous as Oley? Rhinebecks next for me. Nice score on the xa springer but THAT had to set you back a couple of clams.
