It killed me to clean it but it'll "gunk up" soon enough...I did opt for the later main drive gear (with seal) so I could keep oil in it.
The shifter lever shaft and bushing were wiped out...which made for some sloppy shifting. The kicker shaft bushing was also totally spent...a little more than usual...
After cleaning the trans I could see the casting numbers...1946 case E 6 (May 1946) and kicker cover B 6 (Feb 1946)!
She's been waiting patiently...
let's see if I can make her whole again today
