1947 FL Tinkering and Frustrating

Ready for a productive day...so I thought...

Fuck, fuck, fuck...

Out with more chrome...

...and in with more Parkerize and black paint...need the correct bolts...time to call Old Dude...

Insulators and 10-32 x 7/8 Fillister heads...time to call Old Dude...

Set aside some time today to make progress on the 47 FL...6 hours later and it looks like I did nothing. Not a solid 6 hours but still frustrating. I've been fucking with the back wheel all morning. The thing would spin and hit a tight spot. I changed a ton of stuff  and had it off and on many times...it looks like I finally got it working right. I moved to the foot clutch assembly and tossed the chrome one in favor of one I Parkerized a while ago. I have to order more hardware from Old Dude. I then moved to the headlight bracket and got into some more frustration and have to order even more hardware...
Damn this was just gonna be a sheet metal swap out when I started in July (I think)!
Fuck this for now...I'm goin' for a ride...

  1. I went to Old Dude only once in either Oley or Rhinebeck. I got all the gease fittings for my bike and one or two other small things. It cost me $125.00 ,I was shocked 2 the time. It all fit neatly into a small 2"x3" ziplock bag. I've used and seen "easyruss" (e-bay handle) who also goes to all the amca swaps and found he has more N.O.S and is more reasonably priced.
